Answer:

One of the two things that could bring its population back down is lack of food, This is because due too the boom of the rabbit population their food sources will be eaten at a much faster rate until it overtime runs out. Another one is more predators, because of more rabbits more predators will be drawn too the area and help with population control by eating/killing them.
