There were 96 runners to start a race. In the first half of the race, 1/6 of them dropped out. In the second half of the race, 3/8 runners dropped out. How many runners finished the race?

Answer:

50 runners

Explanation:

First half runners left: 1/6 (96) = 16

96 - 16 = 80

Second half runners left: 3/8 (80) = 30

80 - 30 = 50
