Joseph traveled from Boston to Framingham at 50mph and then back to Boston at 40mph. What was Josephs's average speed on the round trip?

45mph

Explanation:

To find the average speed, we must add together all of the different speeds and divide by the quantity of them (assuming all of them are equal in time). In this case we have 2: 50 and 40.


50+40=90.

Then we divide by 2, since there were two segments of equal length
