Some one help me ASAP!!!!

Which approach do YOU think is best? Lincoln's position that the nation must be unified. Either all Slavery or all free.
OR
Stephen Douglas’ position that each state can and should decide for itself and that Free states can just nullify federal law about slaves.

Lincolns approach is best bc I think the southern states would be bias bc slavery was how they payed for every thing
