How are the variables speed and velocity different? How are they similar? in your own words

General

Speed and Velocity are similar in that they both measure d/t (distance over time), however, speed only measures d/t. Velocity is d/t+D (direction).

Examples

Your speed could be 50m/h, your velocity could be 50m/h north.
