What is the name of the metamorphic rock that forms when mudstone has had water and air squeezed out of it? It is often dark grey or purple.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?

Your answer would be SLATE

SLATE is a very fine-grained, foliated metamorphic rock, characteristic of very low grade metamorphism.
