So we have a height of 5 and a length of 12. Since we have a right triangle, then we know we can use a^2+b^2=c^2

a^2 = 5x5 = 25
b^2 = 12x12 = 144
144+25= 169

The square root of 169 is 13, so the distance between the two points is 13 units

From A 12 units right and 5 units down.

OR
