x^2-2x-3/x^2+2x+1 / x-3/x

Factor the left side and flip the divisoin to multipcation

(x+1) (x-3) * x/x-3

(x+1) (x+1)

The items I bolded are the values that have been canceled, remember u can only cancel when they are multiplying/dividing never do it when adding/subtraction

you are left with : x/x+1
