What is the range of y = (x - 5)^2 – 1?

1. The graph is a parabola.

2. The parabola opens up, because there's no negative number in front of
(x-5)^2.

3. The vertext is (5,-1), because of the vertex form.

This means that that -1 will be the least y-value used on the graph and the garph will open up from there.

The range is (-1, infinity) or y > -1 .
