Adding fractions with unlike denominators. 2/8 + 2/6 pls help me​

2/8 + 2/6 = 14/24 or 7/12

Explanation:

(2/8) x 3 and (2/6) x 4. We get our new fractions of 6/24 and 8/24. From there we can then add them both to get a total of 14/24. If we were to simplify this fraction down to its simplest form it would be 7/12 because the greatest common factor that 14 and 24 have is 2. So we would divide both sides by 2.
