The stomata are the tiny pores that help plants to breathe and excrete too. The stomata consist of minute pores called stoma surrounded by a pair of guard cells. During a drought, stomata can be closed to prevent excessive water loss through transpiration. These are plants found in hot and arid climates. Other factors, such as light intensity, also affect the function of stomata.So stomata has the ability to close due to some specific reasons.
