the question: what are the possible values of x and y for two distinct points,(5,-2 ) and (x,y), to represent a function. ​

Can someone explain why this is correct please!!! help I have a 1hr !! the question-example-1

Explanation:

Domain = {5,x}

Range = {-2, y}

For being a function, one domain cannot have more than one range.

If x=5, then y will be the range for x=5. But 5 already has a range -2 in (5,-2). So, x can be any real number except 5 and y can be any real number
