Although, religion wise. It's said the Middle east has more than 90%(Results vary) of their populations as Muslims. While conducting the fact Sunni are a big ground in Islam within the religion. Then followed by Shia, Zaydi, Alawites, Alevism and so on. Then there is Christianity, Judaism, Baha'I Faith, Druze, Ishikism, Mandeism, Samaritanism and so on. My friend helped me with this topic before so I'm just taking the words of what I had.
