y=23

Explanation:

angle (4x+4) and angle (7x-44) are alternate exterior angles which are equal, so we can set up an equation like this to find x:

4x+4=7x−44

calculate it then you'll get x=16

for the next one I'm not really sure how to explain since they are not labeled but,.. since we have the measure 39 we can figure out by using the pairs 'interior angles on the same side of a transversal' and 'vertical angles' that it's equal to 141, so to find y we use the equation

8y-43=141

calculate it and you'll get y=23
