In part e, we have to rewrite the left side of the equation into its factored form so that we can then finally apply the Zero Product Property in finding the value of

x^2 -2x -35 = 0 \\ x^2 +5x -7x -35 = 0 \\ (x^2 +5x) +(-7x -35) = 0 \\ x(x +5) -7(x +5) = 0 \\ (x +5)(x -7) = 0
