Answer:

If John Adams had won the election, then probably the southern federalists would have risen to power and many changes would occur. The election of 1800 also elected Thomas Jefferson, who reduced the nation's debt signed the treaty of Tripoli, and was in charge of the Louisiana Purchase. It was the 4th election in American History, as well.
