Let's take an example.

If you put the value of x as 1, it gives one.

Even if you put 3.997654, it will give 3.997654.

But for any negative real number, it gives the same number but not with it's negative sign. Like if x =-3/7,

It will give 3/7.

The notation used here means it is the modulus function.......
