Wind that blows in one direction is called prevailing winds, in which they blow wind over a specific region of the Earth.

Prevailing wind is caused by the Earth's rotation known as the Coriolis effect. This effect makes the wind systems move in a counter-clockwise motion in the Northern Hemisphere and in a clockwise motion in the Southern Hemisphere.
