What is the result of the subtraction problem that is represented on the number line?

The red line= 3
Blue line= 2.5

So I’m not sure what it is asking- 3-2.5 or 2.5-3

So the answer is either 0.5 or -0.5

Hope this helps :) was not really sure because it is worded really weird
