Saying “Goodness comes from God” doesn’t tell us anything about what ‘goodness’ is. Is God even ‘good’ all the time?

How much additional information can we add from this?

If referring to a religious standpoint, the only way to understand what goodness is when comparing it equally to God would be to find out his character. In the Bible, God is described as love(1st John 14:6). Love in the Bible is characterized as patient, kind, not envying or boastful(1st Corinthians 13:4-8). These differ in many religions.
