We have two points on the graph, (2, 16) and (6, 48)

Let's say (2, 16) = (x₁, y₁) ( there's no reason why (6, 48) can't be (x₁, y₁), but one of them has to be it) and (6, 48) = (x₂, y₂). Our slope is then

(y₂-y₁)/(x₂-x₁) = (48-16) / (6-2) = 32 / 4 = 8
