2n+23=3n+37 then you have to combine like terms by rearranging the equations. you move the numbers by canceling them out. and what you do to one side must be done to the other. after you do this the equation should look like this.

2n - 3n = -23 + 37

then finish combining the terms

-1n = 14

then divide to get -14

the final step is to plug -14 back into your original equations in the place of n. then you solve to get your answer.

2 x -14 + 23 = -5 and 3 x -14 + 37 = 5
