3x-5=2x+3-(x-4)

first deal with the bracket first. multiply -1 by x and -4.

3x-5=2x+3-x+4

group like terms that is sort them according to the letters.

3x+x-2x=3+4+5

4x-2x=12

2x=12.divide both sides by 2.

2x=12

2 2

x=6
