Conventional plastics, such as fossil-fuel plastics (also called petroleum-based polymers) are derived from petroleum or natural gas. Bioplastics are plastics materials produced from renewable biomass sources, such as vegetable fats and oils, corn starch, straw, woodchips, recycled food waste, etc.
