When CHECKing the scene:

CHECK for safety, such as if there is anything that could hurt you or the child, and for clues about what happened.
CHECK for whom to blame, such as an older sibling or friend. It's always somebody else's fault.
CHECK the Family Interview Form for any notes on what to do if the child is crying.
Don't CHECK for anything. You should always rush to help the child.
