A liquid evaporate more….. when it has greater surface area.

Otherwise, as long as the air is not saturated with water vapor - which is to say that the humidity is below 100% - some evaporation can occur at any temperature when there is liquid water to evaporate. The higher the temperature, the faster evaporation takes place, and the lower the temperature, the slower evaporation takes place.
