It took so long to allow this due to the fragile masculinity in the men who were in charge. They looked at women as if they were little pets to rule over, so even after they could vote, they weren’t completely “free” from the patriarchy.

The 19th amendment was passed in 1920 it allowed women the right to vote. Why do you think it took our country so long to allow this?
