Montesquieu's most famous idea was the separation of powers. This was the belief that a good government separates the different branches within the government so no one person or group became too powerful in a country. This is strongly reflected in the American government as there are 3 branches in the united states. The US government is comprised of the executive, judicial, and legislative branch. This way each part of government is separate across many groups and no one can run the entire country by themselves. It is clear the founding fathers included some of Baron de Montesquieu's ideas in their government.
