Equation: y=mx+b where m = slope and b= y intercept

TO find the slope, find the change in y over the change in x , or just to rise over run

From (-1,5) to (0,1), the y changes by -4 and the x changes by 1.

So the slope will be -4

To find the y intercept, find the point at which the line crosses the y-axis.

In this case, it is at (0, 1), so your y intercept will be 1

Plug all this info back into the equation and you get y=-4x+1
