Can N(2) be used by plants and animals? Why?

nope nitrogen cannot be used by plants and most animals, because the gaseous form cannot be used directly by plants and animals without undergoing a transformation. To be used by plants and animals, the N2 must be transformed through a process called nitrogen fixation.
