The small intestine is the next part of the digestive tract after the stomach. Despite being called the small intestine, it is actually much longer than the large intestine; however, it is still skinnier than the large intestine. The job of the small intestine is to absorb nutrients from the foods that were ingested. It helps absorb nutrients such as carbs, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals. The body can then use these to function properly.
