7x^2 + 2x - 3 - (4x^2 - 3x + 1)

7x^2 + 2x - 3 - 4x^2 + 3x - 1

(7x^2 - 4x^2) + (2x + 3x) + (-3 - 1)

3x^2 + 5x - 4

Hope this helps!
