Explanation:

Suppose ray UW divides ∠TUV into two angles ∠ TUW and ∠ WUV.

Then, m∠TUV = m∠ TUW + m ∠ WUV

Given m∠TUV = (9x + 1), m∠ TUW = (7x - 9) and m ∠ WUV = (5x - 11)

Substitute these values in (i) we get

9x + 1 = 7x - 9 + 5x - 11
9x + 1 = 7x + 5x - 9 - 11
9x + 1 = 12x - 20
12x - 9x = 1 + 20
3x = 21
x = 21/3
x = 7
