What is the evidence of prokaryotes?

Scientists have concluded that prokaryote life forms preceded the more complex eukaryotes. All organisms on Earth are classified into two basic cell types. "Kary" means nucleus. "Pro" means "before," and prokaryotes have DNA in a freely floating ring that is not encased in a nucleus.

Answer:

Prokaryotic cells are much smaller than eukaryotic cells, have no nucleus, and lack organelles. All prokaryotic cells are encased by a cell wall. Many also have a capsule or slime layer made of polysaccharide. Prokaryotes often have appendages (protrusions) on their surface.
