First of all the mitochondria is the power house of a cell. Then a chloroplast is one which contains chlorophyll in which photosynthesis takes place.

Plants make use of photosynthesis to synthesize nutrients from carbon dioxide and water. If the chloroplast is damaged that means the plant would wither but it may not likely die since the mitochondria is unharmed.
