Why were the Slaves compelled or made to fight during the American Revolution

the reason because as in,in the war so many men were needed.the war didint have as much and as blacks were slaves. so they owuld take the african americans to fight because we had thought a long time ago it was nothinh but. they took the blacks out and made them fight so the whites wouldent loose as manyh white men.
