If former Confederate generals are allowed to be elected do you think they will win in the south why or why not

If this is in today's time: honestly? I would not be surprised. There remains a great deal of prejudice in the South. However, speaking of back just after the Civil War, the answer is certainly yes. The South is where the very people who seceded to become the Confederacy lived in the first place, if their cherished generals were running for leadership positions, they would back them.
