Societal beliefs in south africa that increase the prevalence of sexual assaults?

One of the biggest social beliefs that encourage the prevalence of sexual assault is the belief that women are submissive and should be dominated by a stronger, upper class, men.

This makes the male population understand that their standards and wishes must be obeyed at any cost, as women do not have the knowledge, strength and independence to act the way they want. The lack of women's empowerment is the main result of this social belief and this places these women in a fragile position in society, which allows them to be the main victims of sexual aggression.
