it was d i think. at the time, over one hundred divisions (german) were fighting russia and there were lots of casualties. however, britain and the us weren’t prepared to invade france yet, so instead we went for north africa and italy. by conquering italy, sicily, and north africa, we were still able to divert german divisions away from russia. hope that helps :D
