reparations is sort of fixing a wrong. for example, after wwi, germany and its allies had to pay huge sums of money to the winning team. sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. in this example, germany was unable to pay the debts, they owed too much money. that made many people in germany very upset with the winning team, and even contributed to the start of wwii. so yeah, hope that helps :D
