• 3(x + 2) + 52 + 35 = 180

Simplify the distributive property.

• 3x + 6 + 52 + 35 = 180

Combine like terms.

• 3x + (6 + 52 + 35) = 180
• => 3x + (93) = 180

Subtract 93 both sides.

• 3x + (93) = 180
• => 3x + 93 - 93 = 180 - 93

Simplify both sides.

• => 3x = 87

Divide 3 both sides.

• => 3x/3 = 87/3
• => x = 87/3 = 29
