Since ABD and DBC adds together to sum up to ABC we could use this info to create this equation:

ABD+DBC=ABC

Replace ABD and ABC with the number that it is equal to

71˚+DBC=112˚

Move 71˚ to the other side by subtracting

DBC=112˚-72˚

Which is 40˚

So the answer is 40˚
