Hussein said that Kuwait had siphoned their oil. He wanted them to cancel 30 billion dollars of Iraq’s foreign debt. Saddam Hussein broke off the negotiations and invaded Kuwait because he thought that the other Arabs would help him but instead, they called in others to stop him. Although most arabs were not happy about this and they ended up calling in NATO for support
