The Eastern Front was decisive in determining the outcome in the European theatre of operations in World War II, eventually serving as the main reason for the defeat of Nazi Germany and the Axis nations. The two principal belligerent powers were Germany and the Soviet Union, along with their respective allies.

In simpler words, the Eastern side was important because it's military was outmoded and it's generals were inept and it had difficulty defeating France.

Hitler’s objective was bleed ins rom, living space vast enough for German empire the their Reich. His goal was to enslave the Slovak people of Eastern Europe because he felt they were racially inferior. Commanders ordered executions of the nobility, government officials, priests, and teachers.
