the width of a rectangular plot of land is one quater of it's lenght. if the perimeter is 360m find the lenght of the land and the width of the land

Let the width of the rectangular plot be x then the length will be 4x.

Perimeter of the rectangular plot = 360m

We know that,

Perimeter = 2*(l + b) where l=length and b = breadth

360 = 2*(4x+x)

or, 360= 2* 5x

or, 360 =10x

or, x = 36

Hence the width = x = 36m

And the length = 4x

= 4*36

=144m
