People who lived through the Great Depression experienced poverty, daily struggles, and unstability firsthand. This has an impact on a person in a multitude of ways. The main ways this changes a person is the impact on their mindset. Those people lived not knowing what the next day would be like, which would give them a higher level of appreciation when they weren't stuck in this hardship anymore. I think they appreciate and think about jobs, money and life overall in a deeper way than someone who hasn't had that experience.
