What is acid rain? Acid rain occurs when sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide are released into the air to create a chemical reaction. When the two mix in the air (oxygen), they will get into the water and mix with other pollutants in the air, making acid rain.

What causes acid rain the most? It can be caused by useing nonrenewable resources. Which inclues coal, oil, ect.

What effects can acid rain have? It causes respiratory issues in animals and humans. When acid rain falls down and flows into the rivers and ponds it affects the aquatic ecosystem. It alters the chemical composition of the water, to a form which is actually harmful to the aquatic ecosystem to survive and causes water pollution which can harm our fresh water supply.
