A tree that is 12 feet tall casts a shadow that is 9 feet long. At the same time a nearby stop sign casts a shadow that is 6 feet long. What is the height, h , of the stop sign?

Answer:

height / shadow = height / shadow until sun moves or earth tilts

12/9 = h / 6

h = 6*12 /9 = (3*2*3*4 ) / (3*3) = 2 * 4 = 8

So C. 8ft
