By adding to the initial x value, we are simply moving towards the right of the coordinate plane i.e we move towards the positive x axis

for the y axis value, we made a subtraction

what this mean is that we are actually going towards the negative y axis

So we move right on the positive x axis and move downwards to the negative y axis
