Perhaps, you have noticed the vast array of medications behind the pharmacist's counter or on the shelf at your local grocery store. The FDA makes sure that each of these medications really works, even though there may be some unpleasant side effects. Why do people take these drugs despite the chance of these side effects?

Because some of the side affects might be better then what they would be going through without the medication.
